Fugitive Vijay Mallya to marry this former Kingfisher air-hostess
Debt-ridden businessman and liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who owes over Rs. 9,800cr to Indian banks and faces legal trouble over unpaid dues and money-laundering, is reportedly going to marry for the third time. Mallya would soon tie the knot with former air-hostess Pinky Lalwani; they've been dating for three years. Lalwani and Mallya currently live at his Hertfordshire mansion in the UK. Here's more.
Mallya had offered Pinky a job in his airline
Mallya and Lawani reportedly had started dating over three years ago, when he offered her a job in Kingfisher Airlines. They both celebrated their "anniversary of togetherness" only a week back, say sources. The couple has been spotted and photographed at many public events. The former air hostess often accompanies Mallya to London for the court hearings as India battles for his extradition.
Vijay Mallya's two previous marriages
62-year-old Vijay Mallya was previously married to a former Air India air hostess Sameera Tyabjee in 1986-87; they have a son named Siddharth. He later married Rekha Mallya in 1993. The beleaguered liquor baron has two daughters -Leanna and Tanya- from his second marriage.
Vijay Mallya fled India two years ago
Vijay Mallya left India in Mar'16 as a consortium of 13 Indian banks led by the State Bank of India launched efforts to recover Rs. 9,000 crore borrowed by his Kingfisher Airlines. He is wanted by Indian investigation agencies for money laundering. Mallya was also arrested on an extradition warrant by Scotland Yard in April 2017. He is currently out on bail.
