Vaishno Devi pilgrim from Bihar dies in J&K's Katra
A 61-year-old pilgrim from Bihar died on Saturday after falling unconscious at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said. Suraj Dev Parshad, a resident of Karmali Chak, Patna, had reached Katra to pay obeisance at the famous shrine. He fell unconscious at the hotel counter while booking a room.
Parshad was declared brought dead by the doctors
After Parshad fell unconscious, he was immediately rushed to nearby a community health center, a police official said. He was declared brought dead by doctors and his body would be handed over to his family members after completion of legal formalities, the official said.
