'Nothing left...': Vadodara man after losing cars to rain
A man from Vadodara, Gujarat, claimed to have lost three cars due to waterlogging in his neighborhood following heavy rainfall. He took to Reddit to share photographs of his three cars parked in inches-deep water. "There's nothing left to live for anymore. All the three cars mentioned in my flair are now gone," he wrote on the platform.
Heavy rainfall damages luxury vehicles
The damaged cars, included an Audi A6 worth over ₹50 lakh, a Ford EcoSport, and a Maruti Suzuki Ciaz. According to him, the Ciaz held sentimental value as it was a special gift received on his 18th birthday in 2019. "Ciaz had just done 49k km, the Ford 52, and the Audi 120k," he wrote.
Recurring issue of waterlogging
The Reddit user disclosed that this is not his first encounter with such a situation. He had previously lost two other cars to waterlogging in his former residential society. When asked about the possibility of salvaging the vehicles, he responded, "There is 8 to 10 feet of water outside. No one can come in [to tow the cars] till the water goes down."
Cars were parked inside bungalow, not on road
The man clarified that the cars were not damaged due to being parked on the road but were parked inside his bungalow in a gated society. "I stay in a 5 BHK bungalow in a society with 85 houses. We have three car parkings per house. Water has seeped seven inches into my house and almost four feet outside my house. What could I have done? The whole area, or rather the whole city, has been affected," he wrote.
