Uttar Pradesh to host 'India-Nepal Friendship Festival' next month

The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to host the "India-Nepal Friendship Festival" from February 5 to 23, 2025.
The event intends to bolster bilateral ties between India and Nepal through a rich cultural exchange.
Traditional music, dance performances, and a cultural tour of districts along the Nepal border will be the highlights of the festival.

The cultural tour will start from Siddharthnagar on February 5 and end in Pilibhit on February 23.
It will pass through Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich and Lakhimpur Kheri.
The festival will include performances by artists from Uttar Pradesh and Nepal.
Jaiveer Singh, Minister of Culture and Tourism, said the festival's goal is "to strengthen the bilateral relations between India and Nepal...and promote cultural and social ties."

Specific venues have been chosen for the cultural journey, including Siddharth University in Siddharthnagar and Jawahar Lal Nehru P.G. College in Maharajganj.
The festival also seeks to preserve the region's rich cultural heritage and instill patriotism in youth and students.
"The shared heritage of language, religion, customs...between India and Nepal makes this festival even more special," Singh said.
