Uttar Pradesh: Three transgenders arrested for chopping off man's penis
Attending a wedding function proved costly for a 22-year-old man in Uttar Pradesh's Shahjahanpur. The youth was allegedly kidnapped by three transgenders and his genitals were chopped off. He is said to be stable now, but has been kept under observation. Notably, police haven't been able to figure out the reason behind such a dastardly crime. Here are the details.
Victim performed at wedding functions, was lured by accused
The victim, whose identity wasn't revealed to protect him, belonged to Sarthauli village in Kanth area. He is a member of a band which performs at wedding functions. On May 8, the victim had gone to perform at a wedding in Rajepur area of Farrukhabad. The accused, identified as Varsha, Ramu, and Nahe, befriended him and offered him tea which was laced with sedatives.
Accused chained the victim, got him 'treated' by quack
Thereafter, the accused kidnapped the victim and held him captive at a house. When he regained consciousness, he realized that his genitals had been chopped off. In his complaint, the victim said he was chained and 'treated' by a quack. He, somehow, managed to escape the torture and reach his home. On the basis of his statement, an FIR was lodged.
Police filed an FIR, arrested accused on Monday
UP Police filed an FIR under IPC Sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 326 (voluntarily causing hurt). On the incident, Shahjahanpur's Superintendent of police (SP) S Channappa, said all accused were arrested from Farrukhabad on Monday. Channappa has also asked station heads to identify places where the transgenders live and find out if they are involved in any illegal activity.
