UP: Upset with wife, man kills three minor daughters; arrested
In a gruesome incident, a man in Uttar Pradesh's Veer village of Lalitpur district killed three of his minor daughters by hitting them with a hammer and setting the house on fire. The accused, identified as Chedamilal alias Chiddu Kushwaha, was upset with his wife as she refused to return from her parents' home. The daughters Anjali, Radhika, and Vishakha were aged 11, 7 and 3 respectively.
Wife left for her parents' home as Kushwaha assaulted her
Lalitpur's Superintendent of police, OP Singh, said Kushwaha's wife took two of her daughters and went to her parents' home, before Diwali. Her parents live in Balari village, Datia district, MP. She was reportedly angry at her husband as he assaulted her after getting drunk. Kushwaha tried to bring her back. On reaching her home he got into a fight with his wife's cousins.
After fight with wife's cousins, Kushwaha felt insulted
Singh revealed Kushwaha's fight with his wife's cousins ended badly. The cousins forced him to return to his village, without his wife, and he took it as an insult. He thought to kill his daughters to ensure his wife returned, Singh added. He kept drinking till late, his mother told police. At around 4 AM on Tuesday, he asked her to go outside.
After his mother left home, Kushwaha murdered his daughters
Fearing he would create a scene, Kushwaha's mother went outside. He then locked the door, killed his daughters, and his actions alerted the neighbors. "He torched the hay and dried wood lying on rooftops of three houses which alerted the locals," Singh added. The villagers also informed police Kushwaha used to drink frequently and often used to pick up fights with them.
Police said Kushwaha showed no sign of remorse
Police said a case of murder was registered and Kushwaha was sent to jail. The village guard Ram Ratan registered a complaint against him. "He kept telling us that he has killed the girls," Singh revealed. Police also added Kushwaha accompanied his daughters' bodies to the hospital, but there was no sign of remorse. Villagers are in shock after the incident.
