Uttar Pradesh: Dalit woman set ablaze; 2 arrested
A Dalit woman was injured after some people allegedly set her on fire in a bid to realize a loan from her in UP's Jajauli village. Cops have arrested two men in this regard. The incident took place yesterday when Reshma Devi (45) was sleeping in her house. Some people doused her with kerosene and set her on fire, said SP Anil Kumar Singh.
Victim's condition is stable: Police
The woman was rushed to a hospital in an injured state, where her condition was stated to be stable. On the basis of her statement, an FIR has been lodged by police. According to the complaint, the woman had taken Rs. 20,000 loan from the accused and even after repayment, they were demanding the interest from her.
