#UPSC Civil Services Main-2018 results out; Here's how to check
The Union Public Service Commission has released the much-awaited results of the Civil Services (Main) Examination-2018 for recruitment to the prestigious IAS, IPS, IFS, and other civil services. The Main Examination was held from 28 September to 7 October 2018. As many as 1,994 candidates qualified for the next stage, Personality Test, likely to commence from 4 Feb'19. Here's how to check the results.
Personality Test's e-Summon Letters can be downloaded from UPSC website
All those candidates who have successfully cleared the Civil Services (Main) Exam 2018 can download their result from the official website of the UPSC. Also, the e-Summon Letter of Personality Test of the qualified candidates who will be invited for the interview can be downloaded from the UPSC website. It will be available for download from 8 January 2019.
How to check the CSE Main 2018 results?
To check the Civil Services Main Exam results, candidates must visit the UPSC's official website upsc.gov.in. On the homepage, they should click on "Written Result (with Name): Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2018" link under the "What's New" section. On the next page, they can find a PDF file that contains the roll numbers and names of all the candidates who qualified for Personality Test.
Candidates must keep these documents ready for Personality Test
At the time of their Personality Test, qualified candidates must take all the required certificates and documents with them. They have to take their original certificates as proof for their age, community, educational qualification, Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), and other important documents such as the TA Form. The formats for SC/ST/OBC certificates, PwD certificates, and TA form can be downloaded from UPSC's website.
UPSC had announced Prelims results in July
The first stage of the UPSC Civil Services Examination, the Preliminary Examination, was held on 3 June 2018. The UPSC had declared the results of the CSE Prelims on 14 July. The CSE is a three-stage exam held annually to recruit candidates for administrative positions in various All-India and Central civil services like IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS, and IRTS among others.
Fewer vacancies this year compared to 2017
This year, about 782 vacancies would be filled on the basis of the results of the Civil Services Examination 2018. In 2017, UPSC had issued a notification for recruiting around 980 candidates, the lowest number in the previous five years, based on the CSE results.
