Online registration of UPSC Civil Services 2019 exam begins today
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has begun its online application process today- February 19, 2019, according to UPSC's official website. It has released a notification to start the online registration process, which will end on March 18, 2019, at 6 pm. The preliminary level exam of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2019 will be held on June 2, 2019.
CSE preliminary exam to be held on June 2
All those who are interested in UPSC Indian Administrative Service (IAS)/Indian Forest Service (IFS)/Indian Police Service (IPS) can apply for the CSE examination. After the preliminary exam, the CSE main exam will be held on September 20, 2019, which will be conducted for five days. IFS main exam is scheduled to be conducted on December 1, 2019, and will be held for 10 days.
Eligibility: Candidates should qualify a graduate level course
All those applying for the UPSC CSE 2019 should qualify a graduate-level course or its equivalent from a recognized institution or university. Even distance mode graduates are eligible. Just that the university from where you've done the course and the course itself should be UGC recognized. The process of UPSC recruitment involves three steps- a preliminary level exam, the main exam, and an interview.
Marks secured in preliminary exam won't count for final ranking
The CSE preliminary exam involves two compulsory papers of 200 marks each- General Studies Paper I and Paper II, with MCQs and objective type questions. Also, note that marks secured in preliminary will only count for qualification towards the main examination and will not be counted for final ranking. The main exam is of 1,750 marks while the interview will be of 275 marks.
