UP: Principal "advises" students to keep Rs. 100 in answer-sheets
It's quite normal for teachers to give pep talks before examinations. The suggestions range from "keep calm" to "take a good night's sleep" and "don't stress". But a principal in Uttar Pradesh has made it to headlines for the unusual tips he gave to students. The principal, Praveen Mall, asked students to keep Rs. 100 in answer sheets and assured them they "won't fail".
Not far from state capital, principal stunned everyone with suggestions
The shocking incident happened at Harivansh Memorial Inter College in Mau, some 300 km away from the state capital Lucknow. Mall addressed a gathering of students a few days ago and doled cheating tips. He explained how they can evade the strict rules of the state government. Apparently, some parents were also present when Mall, who is the principal-cum-manager, gave stunning suggestions.
If you get slapped, bear with it: Mall
Mall claimed none of his students will fail and they don't need to be scared as the teachers at the government school centers were his friends. "Don't touch anyone's hands. You speak to each other... that is fine. Don't be scared. Even if you get caught and someone gives you a slap or two, don't be scared. Just bear with them," he went on.
According to Mall, a Rs. 100 note can solve everything
"Don't leave any answers. Just put a Rs. 100 note in the answer sheet... the teachers will blindly give you marks. Even if you answer a question wrongly, which is for four marks, they will give you three marks," he told students.

Student uploaded video on portal, subsequently, Mall was arrested
When Mall gave the speech, some in the crowd purportedly said, "Sahi hai (this is nice)." One of the students secretly filmed the speech and uploaded it on the grievance portal of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On the shameful incident, Mau District Magistrate Gyan Prakash Tripathi said, "We have taken cognizance of the matter. Stringent action will be taken after investigating the matter."
UP government has made elaborate arrangements this time
The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UPSEB) exams started on Tuesday. Since UP is infamous for its malpractices, the authorities have done elaborate arrangements this time. 938 centers have been identified as "sensitive" and 395 as "hyper-sensitive". In 7,784 centers across the state, nearly two lakh CCTV cameras have been installed. A Twitter handle has also been started to deal with complaints.
