Muzaffarnagar: Man beaten to death over suspicion of being thief
A man was lynched in Bijopura village of UP's Muzaffarnagar by a group villagers on the suspicion of being a thief. The incident took place last evening and a case of murder was registered against several people. Two persons were arrested, SHO, Chapar, Subhash Rathore said. The matter is being investigated. Security personnel have been deployed in the village to thwart any untoward incidents.
Victim's family gheraos the police station, demanding more arrests
The deceased was identified as Kapil Tyagi. His family along with others staged a protest and gheraoed the Chapar police station demanding more arrests in the case. They claimed that Tyagi was innocent and was beaten to death when he has gone to work at Bijopura village, SHO Rathore said. The protest was led by former Bharatiya Janata Party district president Devert Tyagi.
