At RSS-event, bullet fired by BJP MLA's son injures journalist
On Friday, a photojournalist got injured by a bullet fired by BJP MLA's son at an event organized by RSS in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras. The journalist who got hurt was identified as Vinod Sharma, and it was the son of BJP MLA Hari Shankar Mahour who shot him. Sharma was hurt in his neck and later referred to Aligarh. Here's more.
At 'shashtra puja', people openly brandished weapons
On the occasion of Vijay Dashami, the RSS organized the 'shashtra puja' (prayer of weapons), where people openly displayed lethal weapons. Even the MLA was seen brandishing weapons during the event, whose venue was the Bagla College in Hathras. After the incident, the MLA accepted the weapons were displayed and that his son was also involved in it.
Administration didn't give permission for the event
Notably, no laws were taken into consideration while organizing the event. Sub-division magistrate Arun Kumar Singh said no permission was given by the administration for the event. SSP Siddharth Verma said the investigation is underway and they will examine all angles in the case.
