UP: Five arrested with firearms, daggers in Greater Noida
With the arrest of five men in Greater Noida, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police claimed yesterday to have busted a gang of auto-lifters active in the Delhi-NCR. Three firearms, some live bullets, and two daggers were seized from their possession, a police official said, adding that three motorcycles were also impounded during the action. All five men have been remanded in judicial custody.
Accused have been charged under IPC Sections and Arms Act
The accused were held during a routine check in Bisrakh area, police said. They have been charged under IPC Sections 307 (attempt to murder), 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property) and under Arms Act. The accused have been identified as Vishal Rawat, Manish Kumar, Harish Gujjar, Arun Nagar, all four locals of Gautam Budh Nagar, and Sunil Pandit of Hapur district, the police said.
Three arrested with a stolen car, two pistols
In a separate incident in Kasna police station area, three men were arrested after a stolen car and two pistols were recovered from them, police said. The accused have been identified as Abhishek Solanki and Sahdev Singh, both from Kasganj, and Somveer from Aligarh, the police said. The three persons have been remanded in judicial custody, the police said.
