Closure notices issued to 209 unrecognized Ghaziabad schools
The administration of Ghaziabad district has issued notices of closure to 209 schools after it was discovered that these schools didn't have any certification from the education department. Meanwhile, parents have been urged to peruse lists of recognized schools released by the primary education department so that they don't enroll their children in non-recognized schools. Here are the details.
Details of unrecognized schools, broken down by numbers
"During 2017-18 academic session, 231 such schools were identified. Of them, 44 were closed in 2017...22 of them later applied for recognition certificate. The remaining 165 schools were subsequently issued a closure notice...77 of them had shut down," said Basic Shiksha Adhikari, Vinay Kumar.
