Maneka Gandhi hospitalized in UP; to be airlifted to Delhi
Union Minister Maneka Gandhi was admitted to the emergency ward of a hospital in Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh after she complained of stomachache. An ultrasound scan reportedly confirmed stones in the gall bladder. She might be airlifted to Delhi where a surgery to remove the stones would be performed. She had held a meeting in Pilibhit which is her parliamentary constituency.
Doctors deny reports of breathing difficulty
Maneka Gandhi is expected to be transferred to Delhi's AIIMS Hospital later this evening. Initially there were reports that she was admitted to the emergency ward after she complained of difficulty in breathing; however, the doctors at the Pilibhit hospital later denied she had any breathing difficulty. The 60-year old minister holds the Women and Child Development portfolio.
