Ghaziabad: Woman, lesbian lover kill mother for opposing relationship
A 21-year-old Ghaziabad woman and her teacher, her lesbian partner, have been arrested for murdering her mother, who was objecting to their relationship. Rashmi Rana told police her mother constantly tortured her due to her relationship. "Fed up with the objections, Rana and her teacher killed Pushpa Devi by battering her with an iron rod," SP Akash Tomar said. Here's what happened.
Daughter attacked mother with 'sticks and rods'
Rana's father said she and her teacher Nisha Gautama attacked her mother "with sticks and rods" when they were alone at home in Kavi Nagar on March 9. They then fled. When the younger daughter arrived from school, she found her mother bleeding and called police. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, then transferred to another in Delhi, but died a day later.
The two women were on the run for 25 days
The father said two months ago, Rana had tried to run away with Gautama, but they managed to bring her back. They even discontinued her studies to keep her away from the teacher, he said. An FIR was lodged against Rana and Gautama for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Both were nabbed from Ghaziabad railway station yesterday, and have been sent to jail.
