Two terrorists eliminated in overnight encounter in Shopian
What's the story
Two terrorists were killed in an encounter in Wanipora area of Shopian in J&K.
Though there's no official confirmation on their identity, HT quotes sources identifying one of them as Tanveer Ahmad Bhat from Bhatmaran, Shopian.
The other is reportedly a non-local.
Their bodies and weapons have been recovered.
The operation continues as a third terrorist is still alive, reports say.

What happened?
Teams of the 44 Rashtriya Rifles and Special Operations Group launched a search operation in Wanipora after receiving intel about the presence of terrorists in the area.
An encounter broke out when the terrorists opened fire on the forces. They then blast the house where the militants were hiding.
A soldier was injured.
Efforts are now on to nab the third terrorist.

Top terrorists killed in Kashmir in recent times
In September, Abu Ismail was gunned down in an encounter in Nowgam near Srinagar. Other top terrorists including LeT's Abu Dujana, Bashir Wani and Waseem Shah; Hizbul Mujahideen's Sabzar Bhat and Jaish-e-Mohammed's Abu Khalid have also been eliminated in recent times.
According to DGP Vaid, 170 terrorists have been eliminated this year till October, a record of sorts.
