Security forces kill 2 terrorists in Kashmir's Sopore
Security forces have killed two terrorists in a brief encounter in the town of Sopore in north Kashmir's Baramulla district at around 3:30am. Officials said a joint search operation between police and the Indian Army's 21 Rashtriya Rifles was launched following intelligence of terrorists being present in Sopore's Natipora village. The terrorists were inside a house and opened fire, prompting security forces to retaliate.
Police: Identity of slain terrorists unknown
Police said: "Two terrorists were killed in the operation" and their identity is "yet to be ascertained." The area has been cordoned off by the army which is conducting combing operations.
