Tripura: Man arrested for making derogatory comments on Mamata Banerjee
A man was arrested in Dhalai district of Tripura for allegedly making derogatory remarks against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on social media. A WB Police team arrested Tushar Sharma of Kulai area on October 6 for the remarks, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Ambassa, Asish Das Gupta said. Sharma was produced before the court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Ambassa.
CJM rejected WB Police's transit demand as Sharma was sick
The WB Police had sought Sharma's transit remand. However, the CJM rejected the request as Sharma was sick and ordered for his admission in a hospital. The CJM further ordered that the accused be produced before it on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the WB Police team, currently camping in Tripura, said it will again appeal for the transit remand of Sharma in the court tomorrow.
