Tripura CM Deb asks students to be employers, not employees
Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb yesterday appealed to the students of the National Institute of Technology, Agartala to take up entrepreneurship to develop Tripura as a "model state". Deb expressed happiness that 70% of its students got placed through campus interviews. "But I shall appeal to the students to be job creators instead of being employees," he said, addressing the 11th convocation of NIT-Agartala.
Be entrepreneurs, state government will extend all cooperation: Deb
Citing examples of famous Indian entrepreneurs, the Chief Minister said, "Indian students have made Make My Trip and Ola. If they can do, then why can't you do something similar? Be entrepreneurs. The state government will extend all sorts of cooperation."
Deb promises Tripura will become major logistic hub in northeast
Biplab said Tripura is going to be developed as a major transit and logistics hub in the Northeast in six months as the Center finalized an agreement with Bangladesh for access to Chittagong port. The state government is building a bridge with the neighboring country on the river Feni. Deb said Tripura would soon start BPOs, call centers, start-up centers to assist aspiring entrepreneurs.
