UP man assaults, divorces wife for praising PM Modi, Yogi
A woman from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh has accused her husband of divorcing her through "triple talaq" after she expressed admiration for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The woman alleged that her husband and his family members assaulted her and attempted to strangle her. An FIR has been registered against the husband and his relatives based on these allegations.
Woman praises PM Modi, UP CM for Ayodhya's development
The woman, identified as Mariam Shareef, had praised PM Modi and Adityanath for their contributions to Ayodhya's development. "After the marriage, when I went out in the city, I liked the roads of Ayodhya Dham, the beautification, the development and atmosphere there," she said. This led to a disagreement with her husband who sent her back to her parents' home in July.
Husband pronounces 'triple 'talaq'' after abusing PM, CM
Shareef returned to Ayodhya after relatives from both sides intervened. "On August 5, he began abusing the CM and the PM. He then pronounced 'talaq' three times. When I reacted in shock, my mother-in-law and brother-in-law intervened and hit me, while my husband attempted to strangle me," she said. He also allegedly threw a pan of hot dal at her.
Woman files online complaint, writes to CM Adityanath
Shareef claimed that she initially faced difficulties in filing a police complaint in Bahraich. However, she later managed to file an online complaint through the integrated grievance redressal services portal and also wrote to CM Adityanath on August 18. Following Shareef's complaint, the police registered a case against eight individuals including her husband Arshad, mother-in-law Raisha, father-in-law Islam, sister-in-law Kulsum, brother-in-law Faran and Shafaq, and sister-in-law Simran.
