3 terrorists shot down near Tral (J&K), 1 in hiding
In an encounter ensuing between terrorists and security forces, 3 terrorists have been killed in Tral. The officials are still on the lookout for 1 more terrorist believed to be hiding in the area. The encounter started late at night near the Tral town. J-K DGP SP Vaid said the outfit involved in the encounter was still unknown. Police suspect foreign terrorists, even Jaish-e-Mohammed.
Unrest in Tral on Burhan Wani's death anniversary
Burhan Wani's sympathizers were asked to march to Tral to pay tribute to Wani by the joint separatist camp, led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Yasin Malik-led Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. Burhan Wani's advocates threw stones at security forces. Terrorists injured a jawan by hurling a grenade at a temporary police post at Tral's Aripal village.
Security forces on alert in anticipation of terror attacks
Security forces are on high vigil as intelligence reports have suggested that several suicide-bombers are presently active in the Valley, planning to attack the Valley from all sides. The terrorists gunned down in Tral were allegedly planning major attacks on state highways. Special Task Forces and choppers have been put on high security to uncover the hiding terrorists.
Security forces send out search operation for terrorists in Tral
Security forces stationed in J&K received intel of terrorists in the Satoora forest area of Tral, 36 km from Srinagar. A search operation was started soon after. The military opened fire when they saw armed terrorists in the region who were shooting at the search party. Previously, on Friday, another terrorist was arrested in the Sambal area of the Bandipora district.
Locals protest against the army operation
Meanwhile, people in Tral took to the streets protesting against the army operation. Police and troops were seen dispersing the crowds using tear gas in the middle of massive clashes between the people and the security personnel.
