SRPF jawan in Sachin Tendulkar's security detail shoots self
A State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) jawan, who was attached to the security detail of cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, killed himself at his ancestral home in Jamner, Maharashtra. According to reports, 39-year-old Prakash Kapde used his service gun to shoot himself in the neck. The incident occurred around 1:30am at Kapde's residence, Senior Police Inspector of Jamner Police Station Kiran Shinde said.
Investigation underway into SRPF jawan's alleged suicide
The exact reasons behind Kapde's alleged suicide are currently under investigation. "As per preliminary investigations, he may have taken the extreme step owing to certain personal reasons, but we are waiting for the full details of the probe," Shinde said. Following the incident, an autopsy was conducted on Kapde's body and an accidental death report was filed by Jamner Police pending further investigations.
SRPF likely to conduct independent inquiry
In addition to the police investigation, sources have indicated that the SRPF is likely to conduct its own independent inquiry into Kapde's death. This is due to his assignment in VVIP security. The investigations will include questioning his family members, colleagues, and other acquaintances to gather more information about the circumstances leading up to this tragic incident.
