Trafficked 33-year-old woman from Siliguri rescued in Goa: NCW
The National Commission for Women (NCW) in collaboration with the Goa Police rescued a 33-year-old woman, who was trafficked from Siliguri to the coastal state on June 21, the women's body said. The victim's husband complained to Bhaktinagar police station in Siliguri. He further stated that on July 19 his wife called him from a mobile phone, which was later switched off and untraceable.
Police traced the location of mobile number and rescued woman
The NCW directed the Goa police to look into the matter and treat it as high-priority. The mobile number, from which the trafficked victim had called, was then put on surveillance and her location was traced following which, the woman was rescued. The victim has now been shifted to a shelter home and her family would be taking her home today, Sharma added.
