MP: Tired of wife's expensive lifestyle, husband arranges hit-and-run killing
In a shocking revelation, police have unraveled a premeditated murder plot behind what was initially believed to be a hit-and-run incident in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. The accused, Ajay, told the police that he had orchestrated the murder of his second wife, Muskan, due to her extravagant lifestyle. According to authorities, Ajay paid his friend ₹2.5 lakh to carry out the murder using an SUV.
Murder plot unraveled due to inconsistencies in husband's statements
The investigation into Muskan's death took a turn when inconsistencies were found in Ajay's statements and CCTV footage. Ajay had initially told Jhansi Road police that he witnessed a goods vehicle hitting the scooter carrying Muskan and her brother, near Garden City on August 13. However, investigators discovered an SUV had struck an electric pole around the same time, contradicting Ajay's claim about the type of vehicle involved.
Husband admits to planning wife's murder
Upon further questioning, Ajay confessed to orchestrating Muskan's murder due to financial stress caused by her lavish spending habits. He admitted to paying ₹2.5 lakh to a friend, who was in severe debt and needed money, for executing the crime using a second-hand SUV. Muskan died at a hospital during treatment.
Couple's relationship history and motive for murder
Ajay and Muskan first met in 2017 while preparing for MPPSC exams in Gwalior, and fell in love. In 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Muskan's father arranged her marriage. Ajay also married the following year but his wife didn't live with him. After divorcing her husband this year, Muskan returned to Gwalior and rekindled her relationship with Ajay leading to a court marriage in 2023. They lived together in Saket Nagar Padav area.
