#CBSE2019: How to score over 90% in Class 12 Math?
Mathematics can be a nightmare for some Class 12 students, who are often scared as the subject involves a vast syllabus and a lot of formulae, theories, and concepts. While math can be a little tricky, it's also a scoring subject; all it requires is a smart approach, thorough understanding, and regular practice. Here are 5 tips to get 90%+ in Class 12 Math.
Cover the entire syllabus and prepare a proper schedule
Students should have a clear understanding about the math syllabus, marking scheme, and weightage distribution to decide how much time they should dedicate to each topic. While students must cover the entire Class 12 Math syllabus, they should put extra effort into chapters having higher weightage. They should prepare a schedule and set daily, weekly, and monthly targets to cover/revise all the topics.
Students should be thorough with NCERT Math syllabus
To avoid confusion, students should first focus on prescribed NCERT books and understand the core concepts before going through advanced reference books. They should list out all the concepts and topics of each chapter in the NCERT textbook and then cover them. While NCERT books are enough for learning concepts thoroughly, students can go for reference books for better understanding.
Practice and revision are key to scoring high in math
Math is all about regular practice and revision. The more students practice solving problems the better they understand the application of formulae and related concepts. With regular practice, they will not only get better but can also improve on their speed. Students shouldn't take any topic lightly even if they have mastered it; they must practice all chapters regularly, otherwise, they might forget them.
Take mock tests, keep a separate book for formulae
After covering all the chapters, students should start solving previous question papers, sample papers, and take mock tests. They should solve as many question papers as possible in a time-bound manner. While practicing questions, students should focus on the formulae they are applying and understand the concept behind them. They can list out the formulae chapter-wise and maintain a separate notebook for quick revision.
Identify weaknesses and work on performing better
While practicing question papers or revising concepts, students must identify their weak areas on which they need to focus more to score high. Whenever they have doubts or any difficulty, students must approach their teachers or peers to get them cleared. Students shouldn't be scared of math and understand that the subject is important to enhance their analytical abilities, reasoning skills, and decision-making skills.
