Senior Times Now journalist booked for outraging women's modesty
Executive Editor of Times Now news channel, Vivek Narayan was arrested by Delhi police for outraging the modesty of two women and clicking pictures against their will, officials said on Thursday. Narayan kept clicking photos even after women protested: Report
Reportedly, Narayan clicked selfies with two women on board the IndiGo flight. He continued clicking pictures even after the women expressed discomfort on this. The two women were traveling with their families when the incident happened. The issue was raised to the security department at IGI. Later, Delhi police booked Narayan under IPC Section 509 (intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
Police saw pictures of women in Narayan's phone
"We received a complaint from girls who are residents of Delhi that Vivek Narayan was trying to take photos of these girls without their permission. We have seized his phone in which we saw the photos of the girls," a senior officer said.
Source says Narayan wasn't at fault
Speaking about the incident, sources in the know said the matter snowballed after a family of seven argued with Narayan over a seat. He had already reserved the seat, and the source said he wasn't guilty. Narayan hasn't spoken about the incident yet. After the arrest, he was released on bail.
