Dhoni's fan? You can eat free food at this restaurant
There are only two kinds of people: Those who love Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and those who love Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The former skipper of Indian cricket team has a humongous fan following. While everyone expresses love for Dhoni in different ways, a fan from West Bengal, named Shambhu Bose, took it to a different level. Shambhu offers free food to Dhoni's fans at his restaurant. Here's his story.
Shambhu started his restaurant two years ago, gained popularity
Like millions in the country, Shambhu also believes that there's no one like Dhoni. He was a teenager when Dhoni made his international debut and since then he has loved his game. After his long-term fandom, he opened his restaurant, Hotel M.S. Dhoni, almost two years ago during Durga Puja. Since then, the place has gained immense popularity.
Restaurant doesn't have any terms and conditions for free meals
While talking to a media agency, Shambhu said, "Ask anybody around for the Dhoni hotel -- there's no way you can miss it." Interestingly, the free meal comes with no 'terms and conditions'. Just walk in, tell that you are a fan and enjoy. Further, the small eatery, in Alipurduar, serves throughout the day and its menu is dominated by Bengali cuisine.
Shambu took fandom to another level
He wishes to meet Dhoni someday and feed him 'bhat-macch'
Further, there is hardly any area left on the wall in the restaurant which doesn't have Dhoni's posters. Although Shambhu wishes to meet Dhoni someday, he doesn't have money to watch his matches. "I know my dream will never come true, but if I get to meet him someday, I will request him to come to my humble eatery. I know he likes bhat macch," he said.
Shambhu watched 2011 WC final at his tea shop
Shambhu owned a tea shop when India lifted the World Cup in 2011 under Dhoni's captaincy. "I remember watching the final with all my friends on a TV near my tea stall. I can never forget that night, I cried so much," he added. Like many, Shambhu is also hoping that India wins the World Cup again. The tournament is underway in England.
