Thieves raid CBI's Agartala office; steal everything, including doors, windows
What's the story
The Tripura Police have arrested six people in connection with a burglary at the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) camp office in Agartala.
The theft was discovered on February 11 when CBI officials returned to the office, which had been closed since September 2024.
Upon returning, they discovered that all the items had been gone, including steel almirahs, doors, windows, electrical appliances and chairs.

Investigation leads to arrest of 2 suspects
After the theft was discovered, Inspector Anurag of the CBI Agartala unit lodged a complaint.
Sub-divisional police officer Subrata Barman said their investigation resulted in the arrest of two suspects, Biplab Debbarma and Raju Bhowmik.
"We launched an investigation and arrested two individuals...After their interrogation, we recovered seven steel almirahs, seven doors, four windows, one geyser and one chair," Barman said.

Further arrests and recovery of stolen items
The interrogation of the first two suspects led to the arrest of four more people from Shyamali Bazar and Khejur Bagan areas on Agartala's outskirts.
From these suspects, police recovered eight steel almirahs, seven wooden chairs, four windows, a geyser and four chairs.
The arrested have been produced in court for a police remand.
