Vishwas Gupta, Honeypreet Insan's ex-husband addressing a press conference revealed that she wasn't Ram Rahim's legally adopted daughter. In fact, he alleged that since 2009, she had been living with "Ram Rahim as his de-facto wife". Gupta claimed that even after he moved to Panchkula, post their divorce, the Dera chief had him followed and people spying on him.
Who is Honeypreet aka Papa's angel?
Honeypreet aka Priyanka Taneja hails from Fatehabad town in Haryana. She married Vishwas Gupta in 1999. She was 'adopted' by Ram Rahim in 2009, post which she became his closest confidante. In 2011, Gupta filed for a divorce, to which Honeypreet retaliated with a dowry allegation. Prior to 2009, women had no say in Dera functions but Honey's rise changed that.
What was she doing at the Dera?
Honeypreet describes herself as "Papa's angel, philanthropist, director, editor and actress", and has over 1.5mn followers on social media. Just like Ram Rahim, Honeypreet is believed to be a "prodigy" of sorts among followers. She claims to have learnt directing, editing and acting without any training. Reportedly, her influence was such that people took her word to be Ram Rahim's decisions.
Papa in jail but where is Papa's angel?
Honeypreet was last seen with Ram Rahim in his chopper ride to the prison and has been absconding since 25 August. The police have charged Honeypreet for "inciting violence, sedition, and conspiracy to help Ram Rahim escape after his conviction". The police has conducted raids in Nepal, Rajasthan, Bihar, Haryana and other states but so far have not found the Dera chief's closest aide.

Before heading to jail, Ram Rahim and Honeypreet had sought permission from the court to stay together. Honeypreet's legal request stated that she was an acupressure expert and Ram Rahim needed her as he suffered from acute backache and migraine issues.

Honeypreet's ex-husband revealed that post their marriage in 2009, she was never allowed to stay with him but lived with Ram Rahim. He'd even seen them in a compromising situation in Ram Rahim's 'gufa', he alleged. He even revealed that Baba made 6 couples play a game like Big Boss. He said that there was a threat to his life for making these revelations.
