Dear media wallas, our leader has died. Let us mourn

What's the story

A leader dies, a nation mourns and the media lies. But their hatred is neither new, nor logical.

In their pettiness, however, they forgot that he was also a three time PM, a leader who spent most of his career in Opposition yet all his opponents admired him, and a visionary under whose leadership India became a nuclear state.

But, media's earth shakes only when a big tree falls.

Here, we tell them how not to pay tribute.

Lesson No. 1

How not to a pay tribute: Don't malign the dead

Truth be told, I am particularly scared of the likes of 'The Wire'. Their hatred is real, their technique is flawless and their ethics are next to nil.

They peddle lies and mask facts- all while using impeccable English. And, voila, you get a whole generation of pseudo liberals influenced by them.

Case in point: Wire's Siddharth Varadarajan published a 'controversial' speech by Vajpayee today which he had supposedly delivered in 2002. A small fact check on PMO's website would tell you how blatantly Varadarajan lied.

Sir, a man is dead. His followers aren't.

Lesson No. 2

For God's sake, not everything is about Nehru

Given the 'wheeling-dealing' obsession of Shekhar Gupta about Nehru, there is a running joke on Twitter.

"Normal Person: I had great sex last night. Shekhar Gupta: I had great sex last night, but Nehru does it better."

It is really difficult to fathom a lot of things about Gupta: He wants more Muslim neuroscientists, he doesn't know the difference between science and technology, and his understanding of RFID is legendary.

But, his obsession with Nehru takes the cake.

On a day Vajpayeeji died, he tweeted about Nehru's death!

Is Nehru's death even relevant here?

How a Vajpayee, not yet 40, showed he was a statesman-to-be on Nehru’s death in 1964. “Bharat Mata,” he said, “has lost her favourite son.” https://t.co/4B4BfK6UlE

Lesson No. 3

Look beyond your pettiness. Try it, it isn't that hard

The thumb rule is - when a commie speaks, you don't listen. Even when he/she is yelling on your face, you look at the other side. Because the logic is simple: you can't stoop down to their level.

But, on a day you are emotionally vulnerable, you want them to show some dignity or intelligence. However, intelligence is a privilege, and Kavita Krishnan doesn't have any.

When the whole nation is mourning, she is still playing the caste card.

Give it a rest, just today? Spread the venom tomorrow

The man behind the mask was just as much a Sanghi, committed to turning India into a Hindu Nation, as Modi. He played 'softer' because he then had the compulsion to provide fig leafs for BJP allies https://t.co/QNXZQq6eOu

Lesson No. 4

Only for today, please leave Modi alone

Today, in a mark of respect that would even impress his critics, PM Modi walked as Vajpayee embarked on his final journey. The PM walking like a common man sends a strong message.

But, Quint is here to tell us that Modi is not "Vajpayee's Political Heir." I don't know that, but when we saw him sitting there today, he wasn't the PM, but a son or a mentee of a tall leader.

Lesson No. 5

Don't complain tomorrow that your Freedom of Speech was compromised

This is something I am telling the cabal of journalists, in advance. If people would question your pettiness, malicious intention and overall inhuman behavior, please don't accuse them of stifling your 'Freedom of Speech'.

Our leader has died, and we deserve to mourn in peace.

Your lies and hatred can wait.
