They used stolen phones and bikes to rob delivery guys
A five-member gang of teenagers was busted after they amassed a trove of stolen goods in a matter of months. Recently, they had moved on from snatching phones from passers-by, to placing orders on e-commerce sites and then robbing the delivery person. Three have been arrested, while two are on the run. Apart from stolen bikes, phones and more, a pistol was also seized.
They led delivery guys to isolated spots, then ambushed them
Eighteen-year-old Hemant, and 19-year-old Sunil and Mohit, used to steal bikes and then use them to ride around and snatch phones. Four months ago, they started placing orders online using the stolen phones. They would submit a fake address. The delivery guy would call them when he failed to locate it, and they would lead him to an isolated spot and rob him.
A Najafgarh robbery that went wrong
In months, the five collected branded gadgets, clothes, wristwatches and more. But a recent robbery attempt in Najafgarh failed. This time, they had ordered shoes, and then waylaid the delivery van which was carrying goods worth Rs. 1L. When the driver complained to police, a search was launched. Cops nabbed two when they were waiting on bikes near Anaj Mandi to commit another robbery.
