Thane: Four men attack police informer's car near Viviana Mall
A 54-year-old police informer's car was allegedly attacked by four persons in Thane, Maharashtra. Damji Bhanushali was returning home along with his son and a friend when four motorcycle-borne men tried to intercept his car near the Viviana Mall in the wee hours yesterday. They allegedly attacked his vehicle with hockey sticks and damaged it, Thane Police spokesperson, Sukhada Narkar, said.
Bhanushali says some people had threatened him earlier
However, Bhanushali's son kept driving the vehicle and sped away, Narkar said. Bhanushali later filed a complaint at the Chitalsar police station in connection with the incident. He mentioned in his complaint that earlier this month and last month also some people had threatened him and tried to attack him as he had tipped the police about some bookies operating in Thane, Narkar said.
No one has been arrested so far
Bhanushali said he had complained to police earlier also about such threats. The police registered offenses against the four accused under IPC Sections pertaining to wrongful confinement, unlawful assembly, rioting, criminal intimidation, and mischief. No arrest has been made so far, Narkar said.
