Thane: Businessman gets extortion threat from gangster Ravi Pujari
A businessman in Thane (Maharashtra) has filed a police complaint, alleging that he has been receiving extortion calls from fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari, a police official said today. In his complaint filed yesterday, the businessman claimed that he received several calls between November 6 and 12 from a person who identified himself as Pujari demanding Rs. 1 crore from him. The complainant also said that the caller threatened him with dire consequences if he did not pay the money, the official said. The Thane Police registered a case against the unidentified caller under IPC sections pertaining to extortion and a probe is underway, he added.
