The terrorists, who haven't been identified, barged into the woman's house at Narbal area and attacked her. The woman, identified as Nageena Jan, died instantly after suffering bullet injuries. The youth Jalaludin Bhufanda was taken to a local hospital. Here are more details.
Woman's husband was also murdered by terrorists in 2017
As per local reports, Bhufanda has been transferred to Srinagar hospital for treatment. It is important to note that Nageena's husband Mohd Yousuf Lone was also murdered by terrorists on May 19, 2017. Revealing details about the incident, a police officer said a joint team of Army and SOG have launched a manhunt to nab the terrorists. No arrests have been made so far.
The youth is in critical condition
In 2019, security forces killed over 100 terrorists in Kashmir
Militancy in South Kashmir is a persistent problem. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), security forces killed 102 terrorists in the valley in 2019 alone. MHA added some 286 terrorists are still active in the area. Recently, the ministry prepared a list of top 10 terrorists after seeking inputs from security forces. The list features terrorists of Hizbul, JeM, and LeT.
Earlier, Pulwama was rocked by worst terror attack in decades
On February 14, Pulwama was hit by the worst terror-attack the valley saw in decades. A JeM operative attacked a CRPF convoy on Jammu-Srinagar highway. 40 soldiers were martyred in the suicide bomb blast. The attack strained Indo-Pak ties and prompted IAF to launch airstrikes. 12 IAF jets bombed JeM's biggest camp in Balakot after Pakistan refused to act on home-grown terrorism.
