Terrorists open fire at army vehicle in J&K's Rajouri
What's the story
Terrorists opened fire on an army vehicle in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district on Wednesday.
The attack took place in the Sunderbani area, near Phal village, which is a known infiltration route for militants.
No immediate casualties were reported from the brief exchange of gunfire.
The terrorists, suspected to be hiding in a nearby forest, targeted the army vehicle as it passed through the area.
Counteraction
Army responds to attack, launches search operation
In retaliation to the attack, troops fired back, and reinforcements were rushed to eliminate the threat.
The army has now launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
This incident comes just hours after a similar face-off on the same day, involving the Border Security Force (BSF) at the International Border in Pathankot.
The BSF neutralized an intruder after noticing suspicious movement across the border.

The BSF said, "At pre-dawn today, BSF troops observed a suspicious movement across the IB (International Border) in BOP Tashpatan, Pathankot border area & an intruder was observed crossing the IB; he was challenged by the alert troops but paid no heed & kept on moving; BSF troops sensing threat neutralized the intruder."
The identity and motive of this intruder are currently under investigation.
