Encounter comes after attack on PDP leader's residence
The encounter was triggered several hours after a few terrorists attacked the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mohd Ashraf Pir's house in Pulwama district's Tral town. However, attacks on PDP leaders by terrorists are not new. Earlier in May'17, PDP District President for Pulwama, Abdul Gani Dar, was shot dead by terrorists in the south Kashmir district.
