Telangana man throws wife out of house over biryani
In a rather horrific case, a 25-year-old woman was thrown out of her home in Telangana by her husband for not making biryani as per his taste. Manasa, who lives in Illanda village of Warangal district, told the police that it was the second time in a year that her computer engineer husband, Rajendra Prasad, threw her out of their home over biryani.
Harassment over biryani a daily occurrence, alleges wife
Manasa alleged that Rajendra was an alcoholic. He would get drunk daily, ask for his favorite biryani and harass her for not cooking well. The two got married in November 2016. Manasa has also accused Rajendra's family of dowry-harassment. She was previously kicked out of the house in January this year. She was allowed to return six months later, in June.
Police register case; no arrests so far
According to Manasa, a drunk Rajendra also beat her brutally on Friday. She staged a protest outside her house after the incident, demanding to be allowed in. Though the police have registered a case of domestic violence against Rajendra and his family, they haven't booked them yet. Instead, they are trying to counsel them to mend their ways.
