Telangana: 'Changed' husband in photo for government advertisement anguishes family
32-year-old Nayakula Nagaraju and his 26-year-old wife Padma are upset as advertisements for government schemes of the Telangana government used their pictures without permission. Not only this, advertisements in newspapers showed Padma and her daughter, alongside another man, which they said has brought disrepute to the family, reports TOI. The photos were used for Rythu Bhima and Kanti Velugu programmes of the government.
How can they replace my husband with someone else: Padma
Padma, who hails from a village in Kodad in Suryapet, asked how could the agencies replace her husband with another man. A furious Padma said her in-laws and relatives haven't been able to leave their homes out of shame. The full-page adverts were released on August 15. While some papers portrayed the correct family, others morphed Nagaraju for another man.
Three years ago, people asked family to pose
Nagaraju said he and his family went to Vangapalli, three years ago, when few people approached them saying they would give a loan if the family posed for cameras. He said his family was portrayed in poor light. "I was shown as someone who had given up drinking arrack and leading a happy life," he said. They went to the panchayat but nothing happened.
Official says notices have been slapped on two agencies
Further, the family revealed they don't even own a land so the Rythu Bhima (farmers insurance) didn't even apply to them. They went to a former Congress President to voice their concerns. Nagaraju has demanded a full compensation from the KCR government. Arvind Kumar, Information and PRO, said an inquiry has been initiated. He said two agencies were sent notices, and promised appropriate action.
