    Heatwave likely to hit Telangana in next two days

    Heatwave conditions are likely to prevail in parts of Telangana during the next two days with the mercury expected rise, the Meteorological office said today. It also forecast thunderstorms in some parts.

    A warning issued by Regional Meteorological Centre in Chennai said the maximum temperature in the northern districts of Telangana was likely to rise to 45 degrees Celsius during the next two days.

    "Heatwave conditions (are) likely to prevail in some parts in the districts of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Nirmal, Komaram Bheem-Asifabad, Jagityal, Mancherial, Pedapalli, Karimnagar, and Warangal of Telangana," a bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department said in Hyderabad.

    What else does the IMD bulletin say?

    Several parts of Telangana have already been witnessing very high temperatures.

    A maximum temperature of 43 degrees Celsius was recorded today at Ramagundam, Nizamabad, and Adilabad, the IMD bulletin said.

    Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds were very likely to occur today and tomorrow at isolated places in Khammam, Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Jayasankar-Bhupalapally, Mancherial, Pedapalli, and Warangal districts in Telangana, it added.
