Telangana girl, who attempted suicide, ties brother rakhi before dying
A young girl passed away in a hospital in Mahabubabad, Telangana, following a suicide attempt due to relentless harassment from a group of men. Before she passed away on August 17, she managed to tie a rakhi on her brother's wrist one last time. She has been hospitalized since August 15 after she consumed poison.
Harassment led to tragic decision
The girl, who was pursuing a diploma in Kodad, had reportedly rejected a marriage proposal from a man. Following her refusal, the man and his friends began harassing her relentlessly. Unable to withstand the continuous torment from these men, she consumed poison on August 15 in an attempt to escape their harassment.
Police investigation and arrests
Following her death, a post-mortem examination was conducted and her last rites were performed on Sunday. Narsimhulpet police have registered a case in this regard. The men accused of harassing the girl have been apprehended by the authorities. The police confirmed that further investigation into this tragic incident is currently underway.
