'Whiskey ice cream' racket busted in Hyderabad, several arrested
The Hyderabad Excise Department has busted a racket involving the sale of whiskey-infused ice cream at a local parlor. Several individuals linked to the operation were arrested during the raid at Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour, located in the Jubilee Hills area. The excise team confiscated 23 servings of whisky ice cream, weighing a total of 11.5kg, and registered a case against those implicated in this crime.
What was the modus operandi
The parlor, run by Sharath Chandra Reddy, was found to be mixing 60ml of whiskey into each kilogram of ice cream. This concoction was then sold at inflated prices to unsuspecting customers. Other individuals involved in the racket, identified as Dayakar Reddy and Shobhan, were also promoting their product on Facebook to attract more patrons. The authorities have initiated further investigations into this case.
