Swiss couple harassed, brutally attacked near Agra

What's the story

In a disturbing incident, a Swiss couple travelling near Agra was harassed and brutally assaulted by some youths. According to 24-year-old Quentin Jeremy Clerc, the group wanted to take selfies with his girlfriend Marie Droz, also 24. The attack came soon after. They were apparently not interested in filing a police complaint, but cops have lodged a case on their own.

What happened?

According to Quentin and Marie, they were strolling near the Fatehpur Sikri railway station when some youths approached them. They passed comments, harassed Marie and enquired where they were putting up in Agra. "They asked us to accompany them to some place, which we refused." Then they attacked them with stones and sticks. Instead of helping, others reportedly recorded the injured couple on camera.

One suspect arrested, at least one other identified

Afterwards, they were taken to a local medical centre, then shifted to Delhi. Quentin suffered a fractured skull, a clot in his brain and hearing impairment. Marie had a broken arm and multiple wounds. Foreign Minister has asked the UP government for a report. Meanwhile, police have arrested the brother of the main accused, Mukul. They have identified another accused.
