Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar files counter-complaint against Swati Maliwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's aide, Bibhav Kumar, has lodged a counter-complaint against Swati Maliwal, accusing her of "trying to falsely implicate" him in an effort to "create undue pressure." In his complaint, he alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader tried to assault him instead when she "forcefully and unauthorizedly" entered the chief minister's residence on May 13. Kumar filed the complaint after Maliwal claimed he hit her seven to eight times and kicked her in the chest.
Maliwal's alleged forced entry and confrontation detailed
According to Kumar, Maliwal arrived at Kejriwal's residence around 8:40am on May 13, claiming to have an appointment. After security officers found no such appointment on record, she was told she could not enter. However, Maliwal allegedly forced her way into the residence despite their objections and began shouting at staff members, insisting that they check with the AAP supremo about their supposed meeting.
Kumar recounts Maliwal's alleged threats and false accusations
Kumar's complaint further states that around 9:00am, Maliwal left the waiting area and entered the main building of Kejriwal's residence and into the living room. When he asked her to follow proper procedure for meeting Kejriwal, she allegedly began to scream and verbally abuse him, threatening to implicate him in a false. "Tumhari himmat kaise hui ek MP ko rokne ki. Tumhari aukat kya hai. (How dare you stop an MP. What is your status)?" she allegedly told Kumar.
Kumar requests strict action and suggests political motive
Echoing the allegations of AAP leader Atishi, Kumar alleged that "all of this may have been done at the behest of the BJP." "Her call records, chats and interactions with BJP leaders should also be investigated," he pleaded. On Friday, Maliwal tweeted that AAP had taken a "U-turn" two days after it accepted that Kumar had "misbehaved" with her. "This goon is threatening the party. If I get arrested I will reveal all the secrets," she wrote on X.
Video of Maliwal's argument with Kejriwal's staff goes viral
Amid the controversy, a video from May 13, purportedly revealing the heated argument between Maliwal and Kejriwal's staff, had surfaced earlier. The footage shows Maliwal telling the staff that she had called the police and wouldn't leave until they arrived. "I'll make sure you lose your job if you touch me," she is heard saying. Reacting to the video, Maliwal said it was taken out of context and that the truth would be revealed after the CCTV footage was reviewed.
