On way to pay respect to Vajpayee, Swami Agnivesh attacked
In a condemnable incident, Swami Agnivesh was attacked outside the Bharatiya Janata Party headquarters in Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg, earlier today. He was on his way to pay respects to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who died at AIIMS on Thursday. In a video shared by IE, the activist can be seen manhandled by a mob as onlookers recorded the incident.
Mob attacks Swami Agnivesh, woman takes off her slippers
In the video, a group of people can be seen following Swami Agnivesh. At one point, a woman even raised her slippers at him. Slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and 'Deshdroshi Wapas Jao' can be heard. This incident happened just a few meters away from the HQ, it once again shows the failure of authorities and police.

Earlier, Swami Agnivesh was attacked in Jharkhand
This attack comes weeks after Swami Agnivesh was assaulted in Jharkhand's Pakur. He was attending an event related to the Paharia tribe at the Littipara stadium when the attack happened. He later said the incident was state-sponsored and handiwork of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members. Members of the BJYM said they planned a protest but no one among them attacked him.
Swami Agnivesh said he welcomed discussion, but noone came
"I was told that people from BJYM and ABVP (students' wing of the RSS) were protesting outside the hotel against me. I told them that they could come and talk to me about their objections. But nobody came," Swami Agnivesh said after the Jharkhand attack.
