Haryana to organize state-level function to observe 'Surgical Strike Day'
The Haryana Government will organize a state-level function in Jhajjar district on September 29 to observe "Surgical Strike Day". Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be the chief guest at the function, an official spokesperson said today. In 2016, Army carried out surgical strikes on terrorist launchpads
"Various programs would be organized at all district headquarters of the state to commemorate this important day," the spokesperson said. On September 29, 2016, Indian Army carried out "surgical strikes" on seven terrorist launchpads across the LoC as a response to an attack on its base in Uri earlier that month. The Army had said its special forces inflicted "significant casualties" to terrorists.
