Rahul Gandhi to skip INDIA bloc's rally due to illness
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi will miss the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) rally in Ranchi, Jharkhand, due to a sudden illness. Party leader Jairam Ramesh reported that Gandhi was scheduled to campaign in both Satna and Ranchi but had to stay in New Delhi because of his health. "Shri Rahul Gandhi was all set to campaign today in Satna and Ranchi... He took ill suddenly and is unable to leave New Delhi for the present," Ramesh stated.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to attend rally
However, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge will attend the party-led opposition alliance's rally in Ranchi. The rally, which will be held at the Prabhat Tara Ground, will see the participation of 14 political parties. It is being held just days after India voted in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The elections are being held in seven phases around the country. The second phase will be held on April 26.
'Ulgulan Nyay Rally' marks second public event for India
The rally, dubbed 'Ulgulan Nyay Rally', is the second public event of the multi-party coalition, INDIA. The INDIA bloc conducted its first joint rally on March 31 in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan, 10 days after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy. Kejriwal's party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), is a member of the alliance.

Tejashwi Yadav, who arrived in Ranchi to attend the event, stated that the coalition's goal was to eliminate the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in order to save the country and the Constitution. "People of Jharkhand will give a befitting reply to the BJP over the injustice committed to former CM Hemant Soren. Our objective is to root out the BJP to save the country, democracy and the constitution," the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader said.
