Mehul Choksi's namesake just submitted thesis on PM Modi
A student from Surat has submitted his doctorate thesis on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Just like the subject of his research, the name of the student is equally interesting- Mehul Choksi. The student shares his name with businessman Mehul Choksi, who is wanted in India for the PNB fraud. He has acquired the citizenship of Antigua and is currently residing there. Here's more.
Student Choksi started his research in 2010
Student Choksi, who is a political science graduate, took up higher studies at Veer Narmad South Gujarat University. Nilesh Joshi of Arts Department was his mentor during Ph.D. Recently, he submitted his thesis, titled "Leadership under Government - Case Study of Narendra Modi". Choksi, who is also a lawyer, said he started his research in 2010 when PM Modi was Gujarat's CM.
Choksi asked 32 questions to 450 people
Choksi said he spoke to 450 people for his research. He asked a set of 32 questions to the lot, which included government officials, farmers, students, and political leaders. "After tabulating the answers it was found that 25% believed that Modi's speeches are most appealing while 48% were of the view that Modi's political marketing is the best," he said.
51% approved of PM Modi's leadership, 34.25% didn't
On the question of Modi's leadership, 51% gave positive feedback while 34.25% gave negative feedback. When asked what makes a leader popular, 46.75% said he/she should take decisions which benefit masses. "81% think that positive leadership is important to be the prime minister of the country, 31% believe authenticity is necessary and 34% believe that transparency is a must," Choksi said.
Choksi's mentor revealed why PM Modi was chosen
Professor Joshi revealed why they chose this topic. He said, "We found the topic of the case study very interesting. We faced some challenges as it is difficult to write about the person who holds a higher position and that too without any biases."
