Sridevi's mortal remains arrive in Mumbai; funeral tomorrow
The mortal remains of Sridevi have arrived in Mumbai. Earlier in the day, they were handed over to her family by the Dubai Public Prosecution after a prolonged procedure. The probe into the sudden death of the veteran actress was closed with the conclusion that she accidentally drowned in her hotel bathtub after losing consciousness. Her funeral will be held tomorrow at 3:30 pm.
A statement has been issued by Sridevi's family
"We thank the film fraternity, media and fans of late Sridevi Kapoor for their prayers, support and sensitivity during our moment of immense grief. We request you to kindly join us in paying our last respect to a remarkable actor, beloved wife and loving mother," it read.
The last rites will be performed tomorrow
The family further stated in the statement that all the well-wishers can pay their condolences to the late cinema icon tomorrow from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm at Celebration Sports Club, Lokhandwala Complex, Andheri West. Post that, the last rites will be performed at Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery from 3:30 pm.

Meanwhile, the death case was closed after a comprehensive probe
The Dubai Police had yesterday transferred the case to Dubai Public Prosecution for further legal procedures. After an extensive analysis of the post-mortem report, the prosecution closed the investigation and cited the reason of death as accidental drowning. In Dubai, any death outside a hospital has to be thoroughly probed by law.
Sridevi passed away on 24 February
Regarded as Bollywood's first female superstar, Sridevi breathed her last on 24 February in her hotel room in Dubai. The actress, 54, had gone there to attend the wedding ceremony of her nephew, Mohit Marwah. She is survived by her husband Boney Kapoor and two daughters Janhvi and Khushi.
