Sohrabuddin case: Here's the list of all 22 acquitted accused
A special CBI court today acquitted all 22 accused in Sohrabuddin Sheikh encounter case, saying there was not enough proof to show he was murdered. Sohrabuddin was killed in an encounter in 2005. Here is a list of all the 22 persons who were acquitted in the alleged fake encounter killings of Sohrabuddin Shaikh, his wife Kausar Bi and his aide Tulsi Prajapati.
Abdul Rehman was the one who fired on Shaikh: CBI
Abdul Rehman: He was the then police inspector in Rajasthan, and according to the CBI, he was part of the team, which abducted Shaikh and Kausar Bi and also is the one who fired on Shaikh. Narainsinh Dabhi: He was the then inspector with Gujarat ATS, and was accused of being part of the team that allegedly killed Shaikh.
Mukesh, Himanshu were part of the team that killed Shaikh
Mukesh Kumar Parmar: He was then deputy SP in Gujarat ATS and was accused of being part of the team that allegedly killed Shaikh. Himanshu Singh Rajawat: He was then sub-inspector of Rajasthan police, and was accused of being part of the team that allegedly killed Shaikh. Shyamsingh Charan: He was then sub-inspector of Rajasthan police and was accused of allegedly firing at Shaikh.
Ashish Pandya was accused of shooting Tulsiram Prajapati, Shaikh's aide
Rajendra Jeerawala: He was the owner of a farmhouse in Gujarat. According to the CBI, Jeerawala had knowledge that his farmhouse was being used by policemen to keep Shaikh and Kausar Bi, and he facilitated their illegal detention. Ashish Pandya: He was the then sub-inspector with the Gujarat Police, and was accused of shooting Tulsiram Prajapati, the aide of Shaikh, in 2006.
Joint team of Gujarat and Rajasthan police killed Prajapati: CBI
Ghattamaneni S Rao: He was the then sub-inspector with Andhra Pradesh police, and had escorted Shaikh and Kausar Bi from Andhra Pradesh to Gujarat. CBI said that Yudhvir Singh, Kartar Singh, Narayansingh Chauhan, Jethasingh Solanki, Kanjibhai Kutchi, Vinodkumar Limbachiya Kiransingh Chauhan, and Karansingh Sisodiya were part of the joint team of Gujarat and Rajasthan police, which allegedly killed Tulsiram Prajapati.
Balkrishna Chaubey helped in disposing of Kausar Bi's body
Ajay Kumar Parmar and Santram Sharma: They were the then constables with the Gujarat police, and allegedly were part of the team that took Shaikh and his wife to Gujarat. Balkrishna Chaubey: He was the then Gujarat ATS inspector, and as per CBI, was present at the spot, where Shaikh was killed. CBI said he helped in disposing of Kausar Bi's body.
Naresh and Vijay were involved in Kausar Bi's case
Naresh V Chauhan: He was the then sub-inspector with Gujarat police, and as per CBI, was present at the farmhouse where Kausar Bi was kept and also at the spot where her body was disposed. Vijay Kumar Rathod: He was the then Gujarat ATS inspector, and accused of being part of the conspiracy to dispose of Kausar Bi's body.
